Quick update...

I'm pretty sure anyone who reads this, also talks to me regularly enough to know what's going on in my life... So it seems like the updates here are pretty pointless. But in case I have some unknown readers who are shy about letting me know they're out there.... Update: Went to Cousin Nathan's wedding as planned. It was a TON of fun, and if I can remember how to do it, I will be adding pictures here. Rebekah and I left around midnight to drive back to Madison because I thought I had a big test the next day (as indicated on my last update...) BUT IT TURNS OUT... I didn't have to take that test until the following week. Big waste of time, but there you are. I was really sick anyway, and welcomed the chance to go home to bed instead of taking a test. Yes, you read that right... sick again. This time: Double ear infection, sinus infection, AND upper respiratory infection. Good times. I'm now supposed to be on "complete vocal rest" for a month. Good luck with that, right? Not too easy for a Kindergarten teacher/choir director to be on complete vocal rest... especially in the Holiday Season! Oh well. We'll see how that goes. Anyway. So Mary and Jenny and I were supposed to go to Rocky Horror that weekend, but didn't because of me not having a voice. Instead we went out in downtown Racine, and that night ended up being the one that put me right on "the wagon". Drinking and the inability to make good choices combined for an interesting evening that we do not wish to repeat... so the following weekend, Mary and I didn't drink at all. And THIS weekend, we only drank a very little bit. Ok. Actually, it's not the weekend yet. But last night when we went out (night before Thanksgiving... EVERYONE is out!...) we only drank a little bit. But we had an awesome time anyway. I saw all kinds of people from high school, and even a guy from grade school. He actually remembered ME! I was pretty excited about that since I had a minor crush on him for ... ooh... about 4 years of grade school. We rode the bus together. (sigh). Yeah. So that was a fun night. Thanksgiving at Mom's house this year. Food was great! But there were several "no shows" from our normal group of 22+... only 12 this year. We missed our cousins - Danny, Steve, Heidi and Paula. Jacob, Nathan (Tamira!!), Rachel, Caleb, and Uncle James & Aunt Peggy. Tomorrow night, we're going out on the town again. And Saturday Caleb and Rachel are coming down for a visit. So it should be a good weekend, all in all. I hope everyone out there had similar good times, and I wouldn't mind hearing from you once in a while! I like to know who I'm talking to! I'll try to get those pictures up... and yeah... that's about it.

OH AND HEY!!! Congratulations to Mr. B. and The Park Panthers (High school) football team for winning the State Championship! That was an awesome game. Tons of fun to watch. Very exciting. Good job, Mr. B!

How sad....

So my last official post on this site was in September! That's pretty sad when you think about the fact that I have had NOTHING to report in about two months!!! Everything's basically the same. I went to Ohio for Halloween weekend. We attended a wedding of my mom's cousin in Cleveland, and then Hannah and I drove to Columbus. There, she visited a friend of her's, and I got to spend some quality time with Michelle and Alan! Finally!! Michelle and I went to our first Japanese Steakhouse and had hibachi .. uh.. food. We were also treated to the Japanese man's version of "Happy Birthday" to another girl at our.. uh.. grill or whatever. So that was fun. Our chef was a little depressed, I think, since he hardly did anything cool for us -- but he did flip a shrimp into his pocket. My only concern is that I didn't notice if he ever took that out and served it to us, or if it remained in his pocket.. hmmmm.. Then we went to a Pumpkin Farm which was quite fun, actually. We played in the "fun barn", pet some animals, went through two mazes, went on a hayride, picked a pumpkin, and had all kinds of amusing times.. I also was vommitted on by their cat, who is now dead to me (I'm liking the dog more and more, in comparison..). This past weekend -- Mary and I went to the Park High School football game. Mr. B. did a great job coaching the boys to yet another victory, and they are now one win away from State. I'm betting Mr. B doesn't read this blog, so I feel free to say that his coaching Friday night was amazing, and the offense of that team was just ... breathtaking.. seriously. It was a great, exciting, fun game. And Mr. B called the score yet again -- Park wins: 24-8. How does he do that?? By the way, that was against the number 1 team in the state, and they were scoreless until the 2nd half. It was awesome to watch. ... Naturally, to keep Mr. B from getting an even bigger head -- I will not be sharing these views with him at school tomorrow. I will simply say, "yeah. That was a good game."

After the game, Mary and I went out and celebrated "our" victory. (We feel we contributed in many ways: First, there was the suggestion made to have Friday be "Park Pride (orange/blue) day" at school. Second, Mr. B. arrived to his office to find it covered (inside and out) with blue and orange crepe paper. Third, his mailbox was similarly decorated (with the addition of it being taped shut). And finally, we cheered our little hearts out -- and I have absolutely no fingernails left (from the nervous biting of them during the game). Yeah. That was just as much our win as his! haha...) So partied it up like rockstars at Ricky's and then 44 for the last hour or so. Met lots of new people, and had a mostly great time. I felt it would be a good idea at the end of the night to walk home to my apartment, but lucky for me -- my loving sister, Hannah, came and picked me up on Main Street (a block or two from home, so I could have totally made it!) We then went back to 44 to get Mary (oops!) and we all went out to George Webb (also included in our Webb outing were: Hannah's friend Jen, Mary's friend Mark, and my friend.... Vic?) While we were at George Webb -- we ran into (or were seated next to) a buddy from French class in high school. Poor guy probably didn't think his Friday night would consist of being harassed (in French!) by an old high school acquaintance... but it did. So Saturday, I took it easy for most of the day.. then went to watch videos with Jenny and Andrew (and Hannah)... And Sundy -- church, Mission Dinner, home to Mom's... WEST WING.. and yeah. This. So that's that. Consider yourself updated. My basic weekends have all kind of looked like some variation of this one...

Coming soon:
Nate & Tamira's wedding in Marshfield (next weekend!), followed by the PRAXIS II test in Madison (the day after the wedding!!!), followed by "Rocky Horror Picture Show" with Jenny and Mary (after the test!)... Goooood times!

Following weekend: Ripon fun! (Theta Formal, and other fun things!)

So stay tuned, I guess.......
